The Protec System

Lightweight galvanised steel components are precision-engineered to exact tolerances with an accuracy of better than 1mm. Shaping and cutting is performed by a fully-automated, highly portable computer-controlled roll former.

Base track

Typical Protec connection between stud and base track fixed with two 5.5mm tek screws or rivets depending on use of SFS

Deflection Head

Protec deflection detail with four number 5.5mm tek screws fixed to head track allowing stud to move vertically.

DOUBLE & TRIPLE JAMB STUDS

Required for larger and heavier openings, studs are fitted back to back and tied with galvanised strap to increase strengh and act as one single stud.

CILL AND LINTEL CONNECTION

Typical sill connection detail with a double jamb stud, used for longer openings where external wind pressure may be increased.

NOGGINS

Protec ‘noggin’ connection used as lateral restraint between studs, generally at height of 2.4m to fit with plaster board/CP board joints.
